Dr. Ed Boren, Chiropractor

  • TYPE OF CHIROPRACTOR: Straight (Straight chiropractors believe that vertebral subluxation leads to interference with an “innate intelligence” exerted via the human nervous system and is a primary underlying risk factor for many diseases. Cervical Care

Focuses on proper alignment of the upper neck. Cervical adjustments can eliminate mid and lower back pain, as well as neck pain as they affect the entire spine and nervous system.

Cervical Drop
A type of headpiece on a chiropractic treatment table that can be adjusted to various heights based on the amount of tension in the neck.

Uses specific manual thrusts focused on restoring normal biomechanical function. Has been developed to adjust extremity joints as well.

Involves the application of Interferential (IFC) muscle stimulation or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) to the skin. Both types of electro-stimulation cause the release of GABA neurotransmitters, which help decrease pain and speed healing.

Exercise Therapy
Specific strengthening exercises are prescribed for patients with back, neck, and extremity problems.

Extremity Adjusting
Involves adjusting joints besides the joints in the spine, such as the jaw, ribs, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, fingers, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and toes.

Gonstead Technique
A specific method of analysis involving the use of nervoscopes, full spine x-rays and precise adjusting techniques.  No “torquing” of the spine is performed in this method.

Thompson Terminal Point Technique (Thompson Drop Table Technique)
Incorporates a precision adjusting table with a weighing mechanism which adds only enough tension to hold the patient in the up position before the thrust is given.

Usually performed just before an adjustment, a system of rollers moves up and down the spine relaxing the muscles of the back, thereby making the adjustment easier to perform and more comfortable and beneficial.

ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES: Spinalator, Cryotherapy (ice packs) ,Muscle Stimulator and Massage Therapy available.
